About this course
This module is designed to provide an understanding of recognising, managing, and responding to allergic reactions and anaphylaxis. It covers the basic knowledge and skills required to provide immediate first aid assistance to individuals experiencing allergic reactions, including administering epinephrine auto-injectors. You will also learn about the causes, signs, and symptoms of allergies and anaphylaxis and the appropriate response and treatment options. Learning outcomes: - understand workplace first aid procedures - define the roles and responsibilities of first aiders - recognise common allergens and understand the triggers for allergic reactions - identify the signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction and differentiate it from an anaphylactic reaction - know how to administer an epinephrine auto-injector properly - understand the importance of early intervention and prompt medical assistance in cases of anaphylaxis - know how to apply appropriate first aid measures to manage allergic reactions and anaphylaxis.
