About this course
Overview Working at heights is a very common activity that takes place at some stage in most workplaces and homes. In many cases, we don't even consider the dangers, but if we are not careful, working at heights can result in serious injuries and, in extreme cases, fatalities. This course covers the risks, controls and safety measures involved when working on stairs, steps, and ladders. It is designed to help you to understand the dangers of working at heights by being familiar with strategies to eliminate or reduce the chances of an accident occurring. Learning Outcomes After completion of this course, you should be able to: - understand what working at heights refers to, - identify types of work that are considered working at heights, - identify methods of working at heights, - have a basic understanding of ladder safety, - have a basic understanding of portable safety steps, and - have a basic understanding of using stairs safely.
