About this course
Dust occurs naturally and from man-made activities like driving on a dirt road or sawing a piece of timber. In most workplaces, dust is considered problematic and a hazard, especially as dust can impact your health. This course is designed to give you a fundamental level of knowledge and understanding of dust. You will learn what dust is, how to identify dust and the risks associated, the negative health effects of dust, and the controls use to manage the risks associated with dust. Learning Outcomes After completion of this module, you should be able to: Have an understanding of dust, including; - What’s in dust - How it interacts with the work environment - Health hazards - Assess the risks associated with dust - Understand and implement controls; - PPE / respirators - Dust suppression - Understanding of personal dust monitoring
